Modern technology and construction fused with a Traditional Grade 2 listed school

City of York Council wanted to add a reception to the Children’s Centre at the Grade 2 listed Haxby Road School. The council contacted Britspace to develop and provide a bespoke modular modern solution. English Heritage insisted on a modern hi-tech appearance to contrast with the Victorian façade of the school.

The result is a striking yet practical additon to the school.

The building was installed in one weekend to avoid disruption to the school.
